Youth lead the meeting
Senior Scouts set the agenda and teach the younger ones. Adults stay two-deep, coach quietly, and step in only for safety.
Scout Troop 24
After fifth grade, the youth run the show.
Patrols plan the trips, cook the meals, and run the meetings. Trained adults stay close and let them lead. It is where a kid who followed becomes a teen others follow.
Where the troop meets
Same building as the pack. Different night, different pace.
Troop 24 is listed as a boy troop, led by Scoutmaster Sam Washington. A parent stays for a first visit. Meetings use the fellowship space at 7720 Alaska Ave NW; trip details and rosters stay with registered families.
How the troop runs
Patrols lead. Adults advise. The outdoors is the classroom.
Camping is the program
Fall overnight, spring camp-in, summer trip: the calendar is built around getting outside. The troop also turns out with the pack for Scouting for Food and Wreaths Across America.
Coming from Pack 24
Webelos and Arrow of Light families can sit in before they cross. Start on the pack page if the child is still in elementary school.
